Dick Gould, "The Supplier Guy" has been providing training, coaching, and consultation since 1999 in the areas of quality auditing, supplier development, supplier certification, performance improvement, and supply chain optimization.
As a degreed Quality professional, he enjoyed a successful career in the electronics/computer peripherals and medical device industries where he developed and implemented Quality Management Systems and Supply Chain Management practices for companies such as Johnson & Johnson, BASF, Digital Equipment Corporation and Western Digital Corporation.
He is a faculty member of American Society for Quality (ASQ) Learning Offerings where he teaches Quality Audits for Improved Performance, Quality Audits for Improved Supplier Performance, and Process-based Auditing. He also teaches Supplier Certification: The Quality Link In Supply Chain Management and Supplier Management Program Basics for the Customer-Supplier Division of ASQ.
Dick is a Fellow of the American Society for Quality, an ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence, Certified Quality Engineer, and Certified Quality Auditor. He is on the Board of Directors of ASQ, and is a charter member and past-chair of the Customer-Supplier Division of ASQ. He was a contributing author to the Certified Quality Manager Handbook, first edition, published by Quality Press in 1999, and is editor of the chapter “Quality Management” in the Institute of Supply Management’s Supply Management Handbook.
Dick has degrees from Northeastern University, Boston, MA and Vanguard University of Southern California, Costa Mesa, CA. He has traveled extensively throughout the USA, as well as the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia and the Peoples Republic of China, and has presented papers on the subjects of quality systems, supplier quality, supply chain optimization, and auditing at numerous conferences. He currently resides in Surprise, Arizona with his wife Virginia.
