The development of your employees, the “human resources” of your company, is a key factor in your success.

I want you to be successful.  In addition to providing consultation, I provide training in all the areas described on my various website pages.  Some of the most popular courses are highlighted below.

Supplier Management Program Basics

·        Supplier Management Program Basics is a one-day, fast-paced seminar designed for managerial or professional personnel who are beginning the process of establishing a supplier management program.  No previous knowledge of supplier management is required or assumed.

Topics that will be covered will include:

Why is a supplier management program necessary?

How to start a supplier management program

Basic inventory of your existing supplier base

Supplier surveys and audits

Supplier selection and approval process

Communicating with your supplier

Tracking performance of your suppliers

Supplier improvement efforts

Beyond the basics – supplier certification

Quality Audits for Improved Performance **

·        Quality Audits for Improved Performance is a two-day class designed for those with little or no knowledge of how to perform and report quality audits.  Those using ISO 9001, FDA, Aerospace, and even Homegrown will find the training valuable.

·        This course emphasizes the performance audit. It is applicable to both internal auditing and supplier auditing.  Each step in an effective quality audit is described and followed by a workshop.

·        The highlight of the class is a simulated internal audit of a small chemical company on the morning of the second day. Participants take the data gathered and develop a finding that will appeal to the management team of the organization.

·        An optional third day is spent preparing for and conducting an actual practice audit at your plant site, just before lunch. Following lunch, participants process the data and prepare a report for presentation to the supervisors of the area just audited.

Quality Audits for Improved Supplier Performance**

·        The one-day seminar begins by exploring how product and service requirements are defined and accepted. This becomes the basis for subsequent audits. Then, the process of an effective supplier audit is presented step by step. Upon completion of the seminar, you will understand the difference between inspection, compliance audit, and performance audit. This seminar emphasizes supplier partnerships and the performance (value-added) audit.

·        This seminar is designed for management, professional and technical personnel who want to improve supplier relations. It is a basic course. No previous knowledge of auditing or quality systems is required (or even assumed). The instruction applies to any management system (ISO 9001, FDA, military, automotive, etc.). Buyers and purchasing agents will find the information quite beneficial. Those preparing for the Certified Quality Auditor exam will enjoy the review.

Process Based Auditing **

·        This one-day seminar is designed for managers and professional staff already familiar with basic quality auditing concepts. The instruction is applicable to any quality management system (ISO 9001, FDA, automotive, etc.). Those faced with assessing the process approach of ISO 9001:2000 will find the seminar to be especially valuable. Small group breakout sessions allow participants to develop plans specific to their organization’s needs. All aspects of the audit (planning, performing, reporting, and correcting) are covered.

** The contents of this course were developed by Dennis R. Arter, the “audit guy”, based on his book, Quality Audits for Improved Performance (ASQ Quality Press).

Supplier Certification: The Quality Link in Supply Chain Management

·        Supplier Certification: The Quality Link in Supply Chain Management is a basic one-day “hands-on” seminar designed for Quality and Materials management or professional and technical personnel who want to improve Quality and customer-supplier relationships in their companies.  The instruction applies to Customer-Supplier relationships in any industry, large or small. Interactive exercises are used to reinforce the material being discussed.
